Steven Michael Pickard, age 47, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, at Trinity Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Steven was born on August 24, 1979, in Tacoma, Washington, to Edward Pickard Sr. and the late Relen Pickard. A lifelong area resident, he attended Reeths-Puffer schools, earned his GED, and participated in Boy Scouts in his youth. A multi-talented craftsman and hard worker, Steven worked for many years as a skilled CNC machinist in manufacturing, as well as an auto mechanic and cook. Known for his generous heart and culinary talent, family and friends will fondly remember him for making the best homemade summer sausage and hamburgers.
An avid outdoorsman and passionate Detroit Red Wings hockey fan, Steven loved deer hunting from his favorite tree stand near Mosquito Creek and fishing off the pier. Above all, Steven treasured his family, his faithful cat Max, and his beloved grandchildren, whom he adored babysitting and spoiling at every opportunity.
He is survived by his loving children, Austin Pickard (fiancée Sydney Jarles), Destiney Pickard, and Jade Halasinski; his cherished grandchildren, Noah Pickard and Rainsley Pickard; his father, Edward Pickard Sr. (Ginny); his brothers, Paul (Candy) Pickard Jr. and Ken Pickard; his aunt Katie; his lifelong best friend and godfather to his children, Andy Smith; along with extended family members Delilah, Paige, Jake, Julia, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Relen Pickard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clock Funeral Home & Crematory. In accordance with Steven's wishes, direct cremation will take place following a private family farewell. A private, Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
