Steve Morykwas

Mr. Steve F. Morykwas, age 87, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009. He was born in Hamtramack, MI on April 23, 1922 to Samen & Marie (Fydoryk) Morykwas and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married the former Katherine Wagner on June 25, 1948. Mr. Morykwas had been employed as a Metallurgist at Cannon-Muskegon until retiring in 1981. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Muskegon. Steve was a board member of United Way-Muskegon and United Way-Michigan, a chairman for the Muskegon Parkinson's Group, board member of the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation & a board member of the Institutional Review Board of Mercy Health Partners. He was an avid world traveler & cook who enjoyed his cottage, talking, reading and his grandchildren. SURVIVORS Sons, Gary (Donna) Morykwas of OH, Dr. Michael (Mardene) Morykwas of NC; daughter, Donna (Blake) Bylenga of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Naquel, Janean, Jason, Rhonda, Jennifer & Steve, 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; son Stephen; & brother, Hank. SERVICE Saturday, November 14, 2009, 11:30 AM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Fred R. Halde officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn in Detroit MI. VISITATION Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: First Presbyterian Church or Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.
