Mr. Stephen J. Miller, age 82, died early Thursday morning, July 5, 2007. He was born March 13, 1925 in Muskegon Heights to John and Julia (Engle) Miller. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in W.W.II. He worked 47 years for Teledyne Continental Motors before retiring in 1989. He also worked for Gov's Market in Roosevelt Park as a butcher during that same time. After retirement he worked for Plumb's supermarket and worked there for an additional 9 years. Mr. Miller was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his yard work, belonged to the Sacred Heart Athletic Association for many years, and was an avid sports fan. On June 18, 1945 he married the former Louise Bray in Little Rock, AR and she survives him along with 5 children, Sue (Jim) Peterson of Muskegon, Marcia (Claude) Thompson of Rogue River, OR, Debbie Miller of Modesto, CA, Steve (Pat) Miller of Marietta, GA, Nancy Miller of Muskegon; grandchildren, Bob Peterson, Anne (Mark) Weiler, Brian (Connie) Peterson, Jessica and Sarah Miller; great-grandchildren, Jarod Peterson, Maddison Johnson, Samantha Weiler, Chase Peterson, Aiden Peterson, Declan Peterson; siblings, Mike (Joyce) Miller, Andy Miller, Julie Johnson; sisters-in-law, Jan Miller, Stella (Willard) Tate, Sophia Vallier, Elenor Pavlic, and Irene Coller. Mr. Miller was very much loved by his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church - Marian Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato presiding. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 with a Vigil for the Deceased at 6:00 PM. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice or the St. Francis deSales Catholic Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
