Stephanie Sheathelm

Mrs. Stephanie K. Sheathelm, age 90, died Saturday, April 11, 2009. She was born in Muskegon, MI on October 25, 1918 to Joseph & Maria (Gawat) Kufta & married Rex Sheathelm on September 2, 1939. She had been a secretary for several years at Brunswick & Michigan Coil Spring. Mrs. Sheathelm was a member of First Presbyterian Church, PEO, Cherry Guild & Hackley Circle. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed activities with her family. They spent time at Lake Michigan, camping, and snow skiing well into her 80s. She was a nature lover who saw God in all of creation -- sunsets, fall colors, mountains and in her garden. Stephanie & Rex had a long healthy retirement, traveling around the U.S. in their camper, affectionately dubbed "Grandma's Little House." They visited many foreign countries and when they finally slowed down they took up golf. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones, yet we rejoice at her passing into eternal life. SURVIVORS Husband, Rex; 1 son, Glenn Sheathelm of Muskegon; 1 daughter, Carmen (Leon) Albiniak of Hudsonville; 2 grandchildren, Alissa (Nick) Stevens & Matthew L. Albiniak; 1 great granddaughter, Catherine "Cate" Stevens & several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Helen (Joseph) Hecker & Casmira (Marcus) Mierle, 4 brothers, Walter (Nita) Kufta, Julius (Maxine) Kufta, Bronish Kufta & Henry Kufta.
