Stanley Richard Harrison, 71, of Muskegon, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024. He was born in Seattle Washington to Lester and Lois Harrison. He married Lisa Wasiura in 1980 and had two sons Matthew and Martin.
Stan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently served as a counselor in the bishopric of the North Muskegon Ward. In 1971, he served a two-year mission for the church in San Paulo, Brazil, and remained fluent in Portuguese. He was active serving the youth in Young Men and Women's programs in the church and served in many other capacities including clerk, executive secretary, and even as the Primary Children's chorister. He also served for many years in both the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). With a BA degree in communications from Brigham Young University, he worked for 33 years at The Muskegon Chronicle as a copy editor, page designer, assistant news editor, and column writer. His writing endeavors extended to his own You Tube channel and HomefrontStan.com videos,which helped others with home and do-it-yourself projects. He was also active with his wife Lisa in helping others receive neurofeedback. Stan loved music (including playing the clarinet), dancing, bicycling, and electronics. He was a perfectionist, especially when it came to writing, expecting details to be succinct. He was a clever man who loved laughter, his family and life itself. He will be remembered best as the man who was always there to help others wherever it was needed.

Wife, Lisa; sons Matthew and Martin; sisters,Shirley (Ken) , Nancy Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday May 3, 2024, 12 pm at The Church of Jesus Church of Latter-day Saints, Spring Lake chapel ( 18975 168th Ave. Spring Lake ). INTERMENT: Laketon Township Cemetery, 3:00 PM.
