CIHOS, SR., MR. STANLEY PETER Muskegon Stanley Peter Cihos, Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning January 3, 2006. He was born in Muskegon on 5/1/17, the youngest child of Rosalie Cwiklinska and John Cihos who had moved here from Rudnick, Poland several years earlier. He attended St. Michael's School and Muskegon Public Schools and married Helen Mary Slikowicz on 4/26/41 at St. Michael's Church. They celebrated their 64th anniversary with family this past April and she passed away on 5/21/05. They were the proud parents of nine children, sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. After their marriage, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and currently has two grandsons serving in the Marines - Paul Cihos and Brian Cihos, both in Iraq. During the Depression he worked with the C.C.C. and later worked for Continental Motors, Alstrom Construction and retired in 1982 from Brunswick as a millwright with over 25 years of service. He was an avid bowler with many trophies, enjoyed polka dancing, gardening and his family. He and Helen loved to travel and had been on many trips with the Orchard View seniors to Branson, N.Y.C., Washington, D.C, Florida, Hawaii and Nova Scotia. He had delivered Meals on Wheels and served many years on the loan committee at St.Joseph Credit Union. They had been long time members of St. Joseph and St. Michael Catholic Churches. SURVIVORS Stanley is survived by his children: Ted and Betty Cihos of N.C., Stanley Jr. and Carolyn Cihos, John and Eloise Cihos, David and Laurie Cihos, Raymond Cihos, all of the Muskegon area, and Diane Anderson and Victoria Lantz, of Spring Lake; grandchildren, Randy and Tami, Michael, Kristy and Andy, Eric, Jessica, Matthew, Daniel, Paul and Eva, Erin, Brian, Mark, Niccolette, Emily, Joshua and Cassie; and great-grandchildren, Krisan, Justin and Zebediah, one sister-in-law, Rosemary Sleak, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, infant children, Mary Ann in 1942 and Daniel in 1960, and grandson, Carl Buddy Cihos in 1982. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. SERVICE Friday, January 6, 2006, 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Olson officiating. VISITATION Thursday, 6-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
