Sophie Dykema Bommelje

BOMMELJE, MRS SOPHIE DYKEMA Muskegon Sophie Dykema Bommelje, age 83, died Friday, April 9, 2004. She was born in Chicago, Il on April 27, 1920 to Charles & Stella Jitskowski Yokubonus. She married James Dykema on April 25, 1942 and owned and operated Dykema Carpet Service with him. Mr. Dykema preceded her in death on December 5, 1976. She then married Robert Bommelje on December 9, 1989 and he preceded her in death on Feb 1, 1997. Sophie had been a clerical worker and had also operated an adult foster care home for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and very active in it's fifth guild and alter guild. SURVIVORS 2 daughters, Carmen Richard Mikel Dykema of East Lansing, Judith Kent Osborne of Muskegon; 2 sisters Ann Leonard Blaske and Ella Martin both of Muskegon; 1 brother Charles Susan Yokubonus of FL; 3 grand children, Stacey Rick Stanton, Ahna Dykema, Kent Osborne; 2 great grand children, Paige & Morgan Stanton; 2 step grandchildren, Christopher & Michelle Mikel; many nieces and nephews. SERVICE Wednesday, April 14, 2004, 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Fr. Joe Asby officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
