Snyder, Sophie F.

Mrs. Sophie F. Snyder, age 88, died peacefully Wednesday, November 8, 2006. She was born on March 7, 1918 in Muskegon to Stanley and Teofka (Wiliczka) Belfast. Sophie married Nelson Snyder on October 7, 1939 and he died November 18, 1979. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include her granddaughter, Julie (Brad) Jones of Muskegon; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Austin Jones of Muskegon; her sister, Bernice Falkoski of Muskegon; her brother, John "J.B." Belfast of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and son, Paul Snyder in January 2006. The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11am, Tuesday, at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Visitation hours will be Monday, 6-8pm, at Pachesny-Jend Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30pm. Visitation is also one hour prior to service on Monday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
