Smith, Jacquelyn D.

Jacquelyn Doreen Smith, age 72, passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at the VNS Hospice House in Muskegon. She was born October 19, 1934 to Jacob and Doris (Roetter) Toxopeus in Muskegon; and she married Hayden Smith on May 20, 1972 in Muskegon. Jackie enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and going to craft shows. Survivors include her husband, Hayden of 34 years; four daughters, Susan (Doug) VanHemert of Fremont; Sandra (Brooke) Major of Ravenna, Deborah (Joel) Cook of Spring Field, VA, and Cheryl (Al) VanHemert of Kansas City; three sons; Robert (Jan) Swanson of Muskegon, Terry Swanson of West Olive, and Greg (Cindy) Smith of Grand Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Anthony of Grand Haven; sister-in-law, Ruth Toxo-peus of Reston, VA; several nephews; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douglas Toxopeus. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home with the Rev. William Paul officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
