Simetz, Carmen E.

Mrs. Carmen Simetz, age 71, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in a Grand Rapids hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Simetz was born at Elk Mound, WI on June 24, 1935 to George and Myrtle (Knott) Myers. She married Mr. Robert H. Hobgood in 1953 and he tragically preceded her in death in 1969. Carmen then married Mr. Donald Simetz in Muskegon on December 25, 1976 and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1999. Mrs. Simetz was employed at Michigan Spring until having to retire because of health this past February. SURVIVORS: Son, Robert H. Hobgood of N. Muskegon; Daughters, Denise G. (Joseph) Gagne of Clay, NY and Cheryl Hobgood of Whitehall; 2 brothers, Dale Myers and Charles (Bonnie) Myers of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Rob, Dave, Catherine and Colleen. She is also survived by 2 stepchildren, Terri M. and Ronald J. Simetz. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at the Lee Funeral Home, 2812 Fifth St., Muskegon Hts. on Saturday, 11:00 A.M. VISITATION will be 1 hr prior to the funeral. INTERMENT: Laketon Twp. Cemetery. MEMORIAL: American Cancer Society.
