Sidney J. Holwerda

Mr. Sidney John Holwerda, age 95, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 28, 1922 to Andrew & Rena (Vander Nall) Holwerda Sr. and served his country in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. He married the former Barbara Bennett on March 18, 1946. Mr. Holwerda had been an employee for Sheet Metal Heating & Air Conditioning and East Muskegon Sheet Metal & Roofing for years until retiring. Sidney attended Mona Shores Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching baseball and loved spending time with his grandchildren. SURVIVORS Son, Bruce (Jill) Holwerda of Alabama; daughters, Terri (Lynn) Deneen of Muskegon, Tami (Pat) Tlachac of Grand Haven; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. CELEBRATION OF LIFE Saturday, December 9, 2017, 2:00-4:00 pm at Clock's Sunset Celebrations with a time of sharing at 3:00 pm and Military Honors under the Auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
