Sidney Edward Miller, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 in Muskegon, MI. He was born in Daggett, MI on August 25, 1928 to Edward and Louise (Gilbert) Miller. Sid graduated from high school and served in the US Army in both Korea and Okinawa, Japan from 1946 to 1948. After World War II, he attended Ferris State, where he earned a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and met the love of his life, his wife, Rita May. Within a few years, he bought Watkins Pharmacy & Surgical Supply, then located at Second and Clay in downtown Muskegon. Being a lover of the great outdoors and an avid hunter, he looked forward to joining his lifelong (like a brother) nephew, Ray Sunila, for annual hunting expeditions in the Upper Peninsula, as well as, other friends who hunted with him in Canada, Montana, Wyoming, and Africa. SURVIVORS Wife of 60 years, Rita; children, Sidney "Charlie" (Alice) Miller II, Shawn (Joe) LaTorre, Barry (Jo) Miller, Tanya (Kenneth) Uganski, Lura (David) Gariepy, Darren (Dana) Miller; grandchildren, Adam, Drew, Dustin, Hannah, Tony, Natalie, Olivia, Barry, Jon, Katy, Ryan, Kayla, Chelsea, Alyssa, Rachel, Janelle, Franklin, Isabelle, Emma, Adrian, Fiona, Tess, Brandi, Reece, Lily, and Leum, as well as Stacey, Ryan, and Ritchie; great grandchildren, Rowynn, Cameron, Ryleigh, and Amelia; special nephew, Ray Sunila; several nieces & nephews. Sid was preceded in death by his son, Steven Patrick Miller; his parents, Edward and Louise Miller; sisters, Jean Ecquist and Marian Adams. FUNERAL MASS Friday, March 22, 2013, 11:00 AM at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Phil Salmonowicz officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION Thursday, 6:00-9:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home-Muskegon with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice or the Charity of Your Choice or Parkinson Foundation or Veterans Administration or Sanctuary at McAuley or St. Francis deSales Relief Fund.
