Mrs. Shirley Mae Sutton, age 79, went to her heavenly home on July 5, 2016 surrounded by her family. She experienced a very short period of lung cancer, and was blessed by the brevity. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on December 8, 1936 to Jesse & Bettina (Thayer) Rinehart and married William Sutton on March 24, 1962. Mrs. Sutton had been employed at Grand Haven Gasket for 13 years until retiring. Shirley was a member of Harlem Reformed Church and an active volunteer in their food distribution program. She enjoyed winters in Florida, visiting with family and friends, flower gardening, word puzzles, music concerts and watching classic TV shows. SURVIVORS Brother, Tom (Jeanne) Rinehart; Sons, Steven (Janeen) Docsa of Kalamazoo, Eric Docsa of Campton, KY, Tony Sutton of Grand Haven; daughter, Wendy Katerberg of Jenison; grandchildren, Jessie (Laura), Tyler, Scott (Kelci), Sara, Chandra (Chris), William, Eric; great grandchildren, Holden, Ariana, Stephany, Caitlyn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends in MI and FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2011; son-in-law, Martin Katerberg; brother, Mike Rinehart; grandson, Jeremy Docsa. SERVICE Saturday, July 16, 2016, 12:00 Noon with visitation one hour prior to the service at Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th Ave., Holland, with Rev. John Nyitray officiating.
