Shirley Deveral Green, age 80, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024. She was born in Leveland, TX on October 12, 1943 to Alton & Lois (Hoffman) Kitchens and married James Green on April 15, 1960 in Texas. Shirley and her family moved to Grand Haven, Michigan in 1978 from their journey that brought them across Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Indiana and Wisconsin before settling in Michigan. She had worked as a bank teller at Peoples Bank and NBD Bank in Grand Haven for over 25 years. She later cleaned houses for people, worked at a grocery store and even at Mcdonald's. Not one to sit and retire as she was always active at a job, with her kids or grand kids. Shirley was very strong in her Christian faith and dedicated her life to helping people, putting others first and sharing a cheerful disposition with all she came in contact with daily. She was a faithful, consistent, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and member at Christian Life Center in Spring Lake. Shirley enjoyed reading, walking, visiting friends and family and traveling to Texas and Oklahoma to visit relatives. She became an avid follower of the world of Facebook to become connected to relatives and friends. Also she blessed the family and friends by her baking wonderful treats at Christmas time.

Son Sean Green; Grandchildren, Logan (Amber Wallish) Green, Zoe Green, Ava Green, Ethan Green, Drew Green, Joshua (Amanda) Bierman, Jacob (Samantha) Bierman, Brooke (Ronnie) Scharphorn; Will Heth; great-grandchildren, Theo Bierman, Benjamin Bierman; Russell Scharphorn; Kade Bierman, Jodi Bierman.; sister, Clarice Miller; son-in-law, Scot Heth. Shirley was preceded in death by her Husband James, daughter DaRala, brother Darrell Kitchens, and dear friend Darlene Glockzin.

SERVICE

Monday, October 14, 2024, 11:00 AM at Christian Life Center located at 16765 Hemlock Dr., Spring Lake, Michigan with Pastor Kevin McCormick officiating. Interment in Spring Lake Cemetery.
