Shirley Buckwald

Mrs. Shirley L. Buckwald, age 92, died Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was born in Aurora, IL on September 21, 1921 to Louis & Helfrid (Ecklund) Daugherty and married Maurice Buckwald in 1940. Mrs. Buckwald had been employed as a switchboard operator at FMB Lumbermans Bank for 17 years until retiring in 1986. She was a student of the Bible and member of Bridge Bible Church. Grandma Shirley was a volunteer for Bridge to Life Ministries, and will always be remembered as a kind soul whose love for God and her family was the most important things. SURVIVORS Husband, Maurice; son, Ronald (Dodie) Buckwald of Muskegon; daughters, Patricia (Bill) Rexford of Muskegon, Sandra VanOordt of Muskegon; grandchildren, Sherin (Joe) Austin, Dr. Todd (Mary Beth) Rexford, Paula (Jim) Kramer, Kristen (Stuart) Smith, Scott (Molly) VanOordt, Trisha VanOordt, Craig (Fianc, Alison Brookhouse) VanOordt, Beth (Jeff) Olson, Kim (Marv) Jakubiak, Greg (Karen) Buckwald; 22 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Arlene Bird; brother, Robert (Ellen) Daugherty; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Joyce and Marge. MEMORIAL SERVICE Saturday, June 14, 2014, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Bridge Bible Church, 5035 Henry St, Muskegon MI, with Rev. Eric Strattan officiating.
