Sherwin Mcbride

Mr. Sherwin C. "Sherm" McBride, age 73, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 after a brief illness. Sherm was born August 16, 1934 to Ray and Eunice (O'Brien) McBride in Grand Rapids. On December 4, 1954 he married the former Marjorie A. Blain. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Made Rite Co. During retirement he was employed as a park ranger for the city of Norton Shores. He is SURVIVED by his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie; 4 daughters, Kathleen (Clay) VanderVelde of Grand Rapids, Nancy (John) Viraldo of North Muskegon, Marjorie (Mathew) Servis of Monroe and Loraine (Jeffery) Frazier of Kalamazoo; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Marion (Arthur) Jensen of Redlands, CA and 1 brother, Stan (Elinor) McBride of Mission Viejo, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Lloyd and Robert McBride. SERVICES will be held 11:00AM Friday, August 24, 2007 at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with Rev. Don Mathews officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Hopkins, MI. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
