Sherrill Lynn (Sherry) Fauri of Spring Lake Township died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the age of 66. Sherry was born on November 3, 1942 in Pontiac, MI to La Verne Clark Nurenberg and Ila Gene Nurenberg. After graduating from Seaholm High School in Birmingham, MI in 1962, Sherry attended Eastern Michigan University where she obtained a degree in fine arts and art education in 1966. She began a career teaching art at Troy High School in Troy, MI and later at Seaholm High School. On July 15, 1969, Sherry was married to Eric Fauri in Galena, IL. They resided in Detroit. In 1971, Eric and Sherry moved to West Michigan where she was employed as an art teacher at Mona Shores High School. After teaching for two years, Sherry took a 20-year break from her career, dedicating herself to raising her three children. In 1996, Sherry returned to teaching art by accepting a position with Muskegon Catholic Central where she taught until June of this year. Sherry is survived by her husband, Eric Fauri; mother, Ila Gene Jackson (Formerly, Nurenburg); daughters, Lauren Thompson and Nadia Truxell; son, Kirk Fauri; sons-in-law Mark Thompson and Mark Truxell; Grandchildren Sydney and Evan Thompson, and sister, Susan Adams. MEMORIAL CELEBRATION A Memorial Celebration in honor of Sherry will be held at the Muskegon Museum of Art on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, 296 W. Webster Avenue Muskegon, Michigan 49440, 2:00 - 4:00pm Open House Format. MEMORIAL: The family requests that no flowers be sent.
