Mrs. Schmiedeknecht, age 85, died December 7, 2006. Born October 9, 1921, in Montpelier, IN to Lee and Margurite (Bush) Campbell, she has lived in the White Lake area the past 60 years. On May 29, 1947, she married John Schmiedeknecht and had worked as a secretery at Montague High School. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Mikos; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Oquist; and 2 brothers, Van and Eugene. FAMILY: Her husband, John; 1 son, Sam (Kerri) Schmiedeknecht of Montague; 3 daughters, Jeanne (Ronald) Hughes of Columbus, OH, Sue (Jerry) Dyer, and Della Oquist, both of Montague; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grand-children; 2 sisters, Bertha Corliss of Mears and Ethlyn (Wayne) Swihart of Hart; 1 brother, Charles (Arlene) Campbell of Hart; a son-in-law, Leo Mikos of Whitehall; and her beloved dog, Pepper. SERVICE: Monday, December 11, 2006, at 1:00PM, from Claybanks United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gayle F. Bernsten officiating. Interment will be made in Hubbard Cemetery.
