Sanford, Elmer Ray

Mr. Elmer Ray Sanford, age 84, of Muskegon, passed away on February 12, 2007 at Mercy Hospital. He was born January 18, 1923 in Muskegon to the late Rubin and Lillian (Parker) Sanford. He was retired from Browne-Morse. He enjoyed small engine repair, loved Legos, liked poker and loved to joke with people. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale; son-in-law, Aldone; great grandson, Damian; two brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 55 years of marriage, Elnora; children: Mark Sanford, Leon Sanford, both of Muskegon, Kirk (Stacy) Sanford of Whitehall, Terry Fisher of Minnesota, Colleen Sanford, Debra Stafford, Sheryl (Bill) Reddam, Hope (Ken) Hill, all of Muskegon; 25 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and sister, Betty (Bruce) Williams of Muskegon. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 1066 E. Byron Road, Muskegon with Pastor Stephen Worth officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service (from noon to 1:00 p.m.). Interment in Fruitland Township Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
