Mr. Samuel P. Potratz, age 81, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006. He was born in El Dorado, Wisconsin on July 10, 1925 to John & Emma (Erdmann) Potratz and married the former Shirley A. Hollar on May 10, 1952. He served his country in both WWII and the Korean War in the Navy & Army respectively. Mr. Potratz had been employed as a machinist at Sealed Power for over 32 years until retiring in 1986. Mr. Potratz was a member of the Muskegon DAV Wood Tazelaar Post # 11. He was a sports enthusiast as a Green Bay Packers fan as well as very active in baseball. Samuel also enjoyed pheasant hunting, bowling & harvesting fruit that he would deliver to people along with his homemade wine. SURVIVORS Wife Shirley A.; 3 sons, Rob (Dalene) Potratz of Spring Lake, Ronald (Renee) Potratz of Littleton, CO, Randall Potratz of Fruitport; 3 step-grandchildren, Tanya Wall, Richard Neer, Angie Meyers; 1 step-great granchildren, Eli Picard; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters & 7 brothers. SERVICE Saturday, August 5, 2006, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel-Muskegon with Rev. Arnold VanBeek officiating. Interment at Fruitport Cemetery.
