Samuel George

Mr. Samuel George, age 92, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017. He was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on October 25, 1924 to Wilburn & Alice (Martin) George and graduated from Bearden High School. Sam entered the US Navy during World War II. After he was discharged he graduated from Oklahoma University with his Bachelor Degree in Science. He would serve his country one more time during the Korean Conflict. Mr. George married the former Sammi Becher on August 5, 1979 and had been a Consulting Engineer for years until retiring. Sam was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). SURVIVORS Wife of 38 years, Sammi; sons, Bruce W. George of WY, Charles (Michelle) George of NV; 5 grandchildren; stepson, Aaron Becher; step daughter, Judy (Bob) Porath. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ray George, and brother, Thomas.
