Mr. Sam. Babinec, age 88, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007. He was born in Shelby, MI on January 6, 1919 to John & Anna (Kubik) Babinec & married the former Margaret Barclay on May 8, 1959. Mr. Babinec served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He had been employed as a machinist at Clarke Floor Machine for 29 years until retiring in 1981. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church & enjoyed hunting & gardening. SURVIVORS Wife, Margaret; 1 dauhgter, Jan Thompson; 2 grandchildren, Steven (Kirsten) Thompson & James (Kari) Thompson; 4 great grandchildren, Jonathon, Stephanie, Taylor & Johanna; 1 sister, Dorothy Bacheller of NM & 2 brothers, Carl (Alice) Babinec of Muskegon & Daniel (Peg) Babinec of Shelby, MI. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers SERVICE Saturday, December 29, 2007 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd. with Pastor William Uetricht officiating. Friends may meet with the family following the service. MEMORIAL: First Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
