RUBERTO, MR. SALVATORE "SAL" A.. Grand Haven, MI On Monday, May 15, 2006, Salvatore "Sal" Alfred Ruberto, 65, passed away after a long struggle as a cancer survivor. Sal was born to Alfred C. and Rose (Gionfriddo) Ruberto on Feb. 8, 1941 in Middletown, CT. He graduated from Middletown High and enlisted in the US Air Force. He finished his degree in Special Education and Business Administration while in the Air Force. His masters degree in business administration was from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. During a career spanning over 40 years, Mr. Ruberto was a former president of Sun Electric and former Vice President of marketing for Bennett Pump. Along with his brother John, he owned Tohado House, a well known steakhouse in downtown Muskegon. A former member of the Century Club and MENSA. Sal loved music, travel and his Thunderbird. He enjoyed showing horses and had a Grand National Champion, "Muscat Tiger" whom he continued to talk about into retirement. But most of all, he loved his longtime friend and new bride of two years, Norma Jean. He was especially proud of his children and absolutely adored his grandchildren. Mr. Ruberto is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Hoban; brother, Dr. John (Marie) Ruberto of Muskegon; children, Salvatore (Molly) Ruberto Jr. of Grand Haven, Lisa Ruberto-Wilson of N. Stonnington, CT, Tobi (Nick) Salza of New Britain, CT, Mary Margaret LeBlanc of Grand Haven, Mark (Jessica) LeBlanc Jr. of Omaha, NE, Laura (Chris) Girard of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Giovanina Ruberto, Kayleigh, Nichole, Mario and Daniella Salza, Ford Wilson, Zackary Running, Amanda, Holly and Michael LeBlanc, Alex Girard and a great grandchild due later this year, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sal will also be missed by special friends, Rose Shefcyk as well as Dennis and Diane Baynard. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Grand Haven, with Fr. Bill Langlois officiating.
