Sally Ann Smith, age 74, passed away on November 6, 2008. She was born in Grand Rapids, on February 13, 1934 to the late Dennis and Betty Baker. She attended Spring Lake and Grand Haven schools, before graduating from Hackley School of Nursing in 1955. Sally was married on July 9, 1955 to Sydney Smith, at the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Sydney; daughter, Debra (Randy) King; two granddaughters, Angela (Josh) Juarez and Jodi King, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Beth Gaul of Mt. Pleasant; and sister-in-law, Carol Baker of Caledonia. Sally is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill Baker. She worked 40 years as a nurse with Dr. Pierce, NOCH, as well as Oldbergs in Grand Haven. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. Sally was a fun loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. She was light hearted, vibrant and had a zest for life. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Savidge, with Reverend Dan Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Little Red School House, Spring Lake.
