Sally C. Engle

Mrs. Sally Engle, age 75, passed away Sunday February 10, 2008 in Muskegon, MI. She was born June 20, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Sarah Clegg. The former Sally Clegg married Richard Engle September 12, 1953 in Chicago, IL. Mrs. Engle was a member of St. Gregory's Episcopal Church in Norton Shores. A longtime resident of Lansing, she was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Sally was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and graduated from Michigan State University in Fine Arts in 1954. A member of the Junior League, volunteer to the Arts to the Schools, volunteer and employee of the WIC program, volunteer at the Lansing Art Gallery, and a life member of the Muskegon Yacht Club. She loved traveling, sailing, knitting, needlepoint and entertaining. She is survived by her husband, Richard, two daughters: Kimberly (James) Laidler of Boiling Springs, PA and Alison (Gregory) Blank of Menlo Park, CA. Two sisters: Betty (Robert) Miner of Jacksonville, FL and Nancy (Robert) Rybicki of Fairfield Bay, AK. She was preceded in death by her sister Doris (Howard) Earnhardt of Greensboro, NC. She leaves four grandchildren: Brendan and Paige Laidler, and David and Christopher Blank, and twelve nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday February 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at St Gregory's Episcopal Church, 1200 Seminole Road, Norton Shores, MI, the Rev. David Brower officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lansing, MI.
