BOWMAN, MRS. SALLY MERICA Muskegon Sally Merica Bowman, beloved wife of Harold Hal Bowman, MD, departed this life on October 29, 2005, after a long illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 5, 1930, Sally was a graduate of the Hathaway Brown School in Cleveland. She attended Indiana University and received her BSN from the University of Michigan. She taught for a short time at the nursing school at Blodgett Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was the first woman elected as senior warden at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Muskegon, where she had been a long-time member of choir and the Fifth Guild. Sally had been active all her life in Episcopal church guilds in Grand Rapids and Lansing prior to coming to Muskegon in 1994. She was a trustee emeritus of the Bishop Whittemore Foundation of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Michigan. SURVIVORS She is survived by her husband Hal and their three children, Karl Frederick Bowman Gale of Raleigh, North Carolina, Eileen Marie Bowman Stoffan Philip of Muskegon and Kent Edward Bowman Cherie of Detroit. Her 10 grandchildren include Karl, Jr., Brooks and Sean Bowman; Alexander, Merica, Peter and Christian Stoffan; and Christina and Derek Bowman and Robert Taylor. She will be missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Esteleen Bowman McDonald, as well as by her loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She will also be missed by her loving friends and the staff at University Park Living Center in Muskegon, where she had lived for the past three and one half years. She is predeceased by her parents, Forrest Wayne Merica, MD and Alice Louise O'Brien Merica. VISITATION At St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Third and Clay Streets in Muskegon, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1. SERVICE At St. Paul's on Wednesday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sally Bowman may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. CLOCK - Muskegon
