Ruth C. Hetfield

Mrs. Hetfield, age 88, died July 19, 2008. She was born to Rufus and Edna (Baumenger) Ranger on April 2, 1920, in Northport. In 1938, the former Ruth C. Ranger was married to Otis Lawson, who preceded her in death in 1968. In 1983, she married Frank Hetfield, who preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Hetfield worked for GTE for 40 years, retiring in 1982 as manager of a GTE Retail Store in Owosso. She did volunteer work for the Muskegon County Museum. Mrs. Hetfield was preceded in death by a brother, Irving, and a sister, Rosemary. FAMILY: 1 son, Alan (Janet) Lawson of Big Rapids; a daughter, Leota Lawson of Hart; 3 grandchildren, Christine Olendorf of Big Rapids, Michelle (Randy) Baker of Rockford and Dawn (Rick) DeVries of Portage; 8 great-grandchildren.
