Ruth Burr

Mrs. Ruthanne B. Burr, age 73, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was born in Detroit, MI on May 27, 1939 to Frank & Alma (Hennin) Doubles and married Eugene Burr in 1957. Mrs. Burr ran the kitchen at the Muskegon Eagles for many years where she was known for her "Ruthie Burgers". She also worked as a cook for various other restaurants in Muskegon. She belonged to the Muskegon Eagles where for 32 years she was a member of its Marching Drill Team that won several competitions. Ruth loved yard sales and enjoyed bowling and shuffle board. SURVIVORS Sons, Timothy (Lori) Burr of Twin Lake, John (Sally) Burr of Holton, Jerry (Debra) Burr of Holton, Ronald Burr, James (Joy) Burr of Whitehall; daughter, Tamara (David) McLouth of Muskegon; 28 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; brothers, James (Virginia) Doubles of VA, George (Evelyn) Doubles of Muskegon; sister, Patricia Bishop of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 1976; parents and brother, Allen Doubles. SERVICE Monday, May 6, 2013, 12:00 PM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Muskegon Apostolic Tabernacle with Pastor Frank Zenobia III officiating. MEMORIAL: American Diabetes Association.
