Mr. Russell B. Fairfield, born May 5, 1919 to Emma and George Fairfield in Muskegon, went to be with his Lord on January 28, 2014. He was 94 years old. He was the widower of Audree M. Fairfield who passed away after 60 years of marriage. They were high school sweethearts having attended Muskegon High School. Russ served his country during WWII from 1942 to 1946 in the Southwest Pacific Theater where he was in the 593rd Amphibious Landing Craft Brigade with footprints all over the islands making 74 landings on enemy shores. He retired from Brunswick Corp. after 46 years of service. He was a past president of the Greater Muskegon Industrial Management Club, member of Brunswick Keymans Club, the Muskegon Fine Arts Society, the Old Newsies, VFW Post # 8846, American Legion Post #9 and a lifetime member of Muskegon Elks Lodge #274 where he held many offices during his 54 year membership. He loved family, so many friends, the out of doors, hiking, camping, ice skating, photography, baseball, football, music and fine art. He will be missed by family, many wonderful friends but will rejoice in entering eternal life to join his wife Audree in God's heavenly home after having had a blessed life here on earth. SURVIVORS He is survived by one son, Stephen (Deborah) Fairfield of Springtown, TX; daughter-in-law Jennifer Fairfield of Manchester, MI; and three grandchildren, Damon, Julia & Jonathan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Audree and his son, Brent. SERVICE As per his wishes, cremation will take place with interment at Oakwood Cemetery and no services will be held. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
