Roy Graves

Mr. Roy F. Graves, age 60, passed away from complications from Lymphoma Cancer on Saturday, August 24, 2013. He was born in Muskegon, MI on August 10, 1953 to Marshall & Veronica (Carskadon) Graves and married the former Karma L. Swieringa on June 18, 1983. Mr. Graves had been employed as a custodian at Muskegon Community College for 33 years. He was a member of Fruitport Christian Reformed Church and loved to create things on his scroll saw. SURVIVORS Wife of 30 years, Karma; son, Christopher; brothers, Marshall Jr. "Hoss" ( Marie Louise Nelson) Graves, Henry "Hank" (Jean) Graves, Roger (Gayle) Graves; sister, Marsha (John Shepherd) VanLente; stepmother, Annella Graves; sister-in-law, Ruth (Dan) Bolles; brothers-in-law, Ben (Erin) Swieringa, Kurt Swieringa; mother-in-law, Vina Swieringa; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Danielle "Dani" and father-in-law, Robert C. Swieringa. SERVICE Wednesday, August 28, 2013, 11:00 AM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Fruitport Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Bob Pohler officiating. Interment at Fruitport Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Johnson Cancer Center or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
