Rowena LaVearle Klapp passed away Monday, November 11, 2019. She was the widow of Melvin D. Klapp and was born May 10, 1920 in Walkerville, Michigan to Charles Franklin & Mary Johanna (Penrod) Feasel. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Hart, Michigan. Her mother passed away in November of 1924 and her father in August of 1928. She was raised in Scottville, Michigan, graduating from Scottville High School on June 2, 1938 and from Bronson Methodist school of Nursing in June of 1941. Rowena married Melvin Klapp on June 14, 1946 at Shelby Methodist Church. In 1948, they built their home in Laketon Township which has been the family home. She was a member of North Muskegon United Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, baking, traveling & card games. SURVIVORS Son, Jeffrey (Judy Barns) Klapp of Texas; daughter, Vicki (Larry) Kaiser of Muskegon; grandchildren, Kevin (Stephanie Jend) Kaiser, Kristin (Brad) McKenzie, Courtney Klapp, Caroline Klapp; great grandchildren, Kloey & Brady McKenzie, Ellory & Emmely Kaiser; sister-in-law, Leota Klapp; many nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Melvin Klapp; brothers, Estel, Roy, Ivan, Walter; sisters, Faye, Beatrice Kapsh, Edna, Nina Dietz. SERVICE Saturday, November 16, 2019, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeremy Williams officiating. Internment in Laketon Township Cemetery.
