Robert Richard Rositch, Sr., age 82, of Muskegon passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born August 16, 1924 to John and Margaret (Johnson) Rositch in Joliet, Illinois. He married the former Mary Werderits on May 24, 1947. Mr. Rositch graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He served our country in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and upon discharge from the Navy he was employed at the Hines Veterans Hospital near Chicago. Mr. Rositch relocated to Muskegon, MI in 1950, and was a police officer and warrant officer for the City of Muskegon. He later held positions of probation officer and Magistrate for the Muskegon County District Court until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Rositch was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and Old Newsboys. Mr. Rositch is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary; 3 children: Robert (Susan) Rositch of Spring Lake, MI, Monica (Richard) Collett of Jackson, MI and John Rositch of Zeeland, MI; 5 grandchildren; brother, Donald (Pat) Rositch of Raleigh, NC; 1 niece and two nephews. Mr. Rositch was preceded in death by his parents. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL for Mr. Rositch will be held Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel in Muskegon. Friends may meet the family from 10 - 11 AM at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials to St. Francis de Sales Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated.
