Rose Mary Spencer

Rosemary Mary Spencer, age 80, of Muskegon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 7, 1945, in Croton, Michigan, to the late Nathan and Doris (Hill) Seevers, Rose Mary was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area and spent the last 50 years in the home she cherished on Parkway Street. On December 12, 1964, she married the love of her life, Charles Spencer, who preceded her in death. A dedicated homemaker, Rosemary also managed residential rental properties.

Rosemary had a passion for the outdoors. She was an avid gardener whose yard was a lush jungle of bushes and plants. She loved camping, fishing, and exploring the backroads of Michigan to see fall colors at Patterson Park and visit old wooden bridges. A legendary yard saler, she once famously found a wife for her uncle at a sale. Above all, she treasured spending one-on-one time with each of her children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Charles "Chuck" (Terra) Spencer, Kimberly "Kim" (Gary) Lockard, and Trisha Spencer. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Matt (Sam) Dutton, Machelle Spencer (John), Malissa Bennett, Jordan Blanshine, Evan Ley, Alex Ley, Adrian Ley, Adam (Sarah) Spencer, Kali (DJ) Spencer, and Destiny Spencer. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ed Norton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles; her granddaughter, Tiara Spencer; and her siblings, Betty Davis, Wesley Seevers, John Seevers, and Arlene Bunker.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE

A public graveside service to celebrate Rosemary's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Egelston Township Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at 12:30pm at 3785 Evanston Ave. Muskegon MI 49442. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charles.
