Rose M. Savickas

Mrs. Rose M. Savickas, age 83, passed away Tuesday morning, October 23, 2007, at her home. She was born August 27, 1924 to Frederick and Theresa (Bencsics) Dorner in Chicago, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Women's Circle of the church, the Catholic Daughters, and the Muskegon Eagles #668 Auxiliary. On June 1, 1946 she married Alphonsas M. Savickas. SURVIVORS Include her husband of 61 years, Alphonsas; 3 children, James (Marcia) Savickas of Sylvania, OH, Michael (RoseAnn) Savickas of Novi, MI, Mary Jo (Jack) Grevel of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Frederick (Dorine) Dorner of Alma, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Charles Dorner; 2 sisters, Theresa and Mary Dorner. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 will be from 6-8 PM Thursday evening, with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM, and 1 hour prior to the mass at church.
