Mrs. Rose Louise Katt, age 92, passed away June 10, 2007. The youngest of five children, she was born April 9, 1915 in Whiting, IN to John and Rose (Kriso) Jancek. Her mother passed away when she was very young and her father moved the family to Rothbury where he married Anna Kurdera. She married Gerrit Katt in Muskegon on July 26, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1974. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Alter Society, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union. Rose loved her family and followed sports with her grandchildren. Rose was also an avid Tigers fan. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and polka music. Rose liked to bake and was known for her chocolate chip cookies. SURVIVORS: 1 daughter, Janice M. (Henry Jr. "Chip") Bialik of Muskegon; 1 son, Dennis L. (Mary) Katt of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Louis (Marge) Jancek of Montague, and William (Lil) Jancek of Muskegon; 1 sister, Patricia Bates of Montague; and 6 grandchildren, Lindsey, Kristin and Devon Bialik, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Gerrit Katt. She was also preceded in death by 2 infant children, 8 brothers, and 2 sisters. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held Thursday 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Norman Droski presiding. INTERMENT: St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION: Wednesday 6-8 P.M. at the Lee Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will begin at 6 P.M. and also at church one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS: Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence or G.M.C.S. Baseball-Softball Program.
