In Loving Memory of Ronald "Ron" Eugene Schrader
July 29, 1951 - October 16, 2026
Ronald Eugene Schrader, age 75, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Ron was born in Muskegon on July 29, 1951, to Charles and Inez (Nichols) Schrader. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1970 graduate of Orchard View High School. Following high school, Ron served his country in the United States Army before receiving an honorable hardship discharge.
Ron dedicated many years to local manufacturing, working at Nordco Drum, Michigan Steel, and Tricast Aluminum, and in his early years spent time working at local service stations and car washes. A proud member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles (and later the Muskegon Eagles), Ron was known by everyone in the neighborhood as a friendly, generous man who would give anyone a ride, lend a helping hand, and spend hours snow blowing the entire block each winter. An avid outdoorsman, Ron loved hunting, fishing, cleaning the day's catch in the backyard, and cherished memories spent tent camping with his family at White River Campground and the Heights Eagles Campground.
On August 3, 1974, Ron married the love of his life, Denise (Cole) Schrader, with whom he shared over 52 years of devotion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his five children: Dale Shawl (Tracy Hove), Jennifer (Daniel) Lemmen, Robin Schrader, and Theodore Schrader (fiancée Christy Bradshaw); his cherished grandchildren: Sierra Shawl, Aaliyah Lemmen, Matthew Schrader, Brandon Lemmen, Theodore "Teddy" Schrader Jr., and Kassandra Schrader; five great-grandchildren: Rowland, Copelyn, Liam, Fyre, and Asher; and his brothers, Jim Hurst and Phil Levendowski. He is also remembered warmly by extended family members Amanda, Cam, and Sean, as well as many dear lifelong friends and neighbors from the Jogela, Hussey, McCall, and Johnson families.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Inez Schrader, and several of his siblings Ted, Debra, Delphine, Karen, Deanie, Peggy and Clara Mae.
In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the funeral home. A neighborhood gathering and remembrance barbecue to celebrate Ron's life will take place at a later date.
Online condolences, photos, and memories may be shared with the family on the funeral home website at www.clockfuneralhome.com
