Pullen, Bishop Ronald Muskegon Bishop Ronald James Pullen Sr. age 66, passed away Thursday, October 28th 2021. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on September 19th 1955 to Robert & Jerline (Riley) Pullen. He was raised in North Muskegon and attended Reeths Puffer Schools. Ron, a US Army Veteran, served during the Vietnam war in the early 70's. Honorably discharged, he returned to Muskegon and began to pursue his post secondary education under the GI Bill. He successfully completed a General Education Associates Degree, a Bachelors in Theology, a Bachelors in Social Work, and a Masters Level Certificate CPE for Hospital Chaplainship. He married his soulmate Rolma J. Owens on July 1st of 1978. They shared a blended family, Raymond Owens and Keifer Moore prior to the birth of their additional children born to that union, Ronald James Pullen, Jr., and Ronnita Janice Pullen. Ronald loved children, particularly those who were troubled. He worked as a substitute teacher having an Associates in General Education. He also utilized his general education/social work interest to serve as a mentor while employed by Paducah School Systems as a truant officer. When his eldest son Raymond passed away, with HIV/AIDS, he was inspired to change his career path to serve the HIV/AIDS community at Heartland Care Facility, as a Care Coordinator and educator for this population. His highest calling, however, was to preach the Gospel. Ronald was trained as a minister and ordained by the late Bishop Jerry Lee Oaks at Tabernacle Church of God in Muskegon, Michigan under the order of the Church of God Holy Faith where the late Bishop Johnny Lee Bankhead was the founding progenitor. He traveled as an evangelist, preaching revivals across the contiguous United States. In his early ministry career, he planted a church in Muskegon as well as one in Grand Rapids. Once he moved and settled in Kentucky, he began to serve as an itinerate minister standing in until permanent pastors were found. He provided this service in multiple churches of diverse denominations. Ronald finally took a permanent pastorate to serve Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church in Paducah Kentucky. Howbeit, the crowning moment of his ministry was when the late Bishop Johnny Lee Bankhead and the ordaining committee of the Church of God Holy Faith traveled to Paducah, Kentucky and consecrated him Bishop within the organization. Subsequent to his Bishopric consecration, he organized a 12 church fellowship, serving as the presiding Bishop, prior to the death of his spouse and his besetting illness. In 2012, Ronald's life came full circle when he returned home to Muskegon, Michigan in failing health. The newly widowed Bishop's sisters cared for him, after a life threatening catastrophic illness. He also returned to worship at his old church, Tabernacle Church of God. Ron inquired of the whereabouts of his old bible study partner, Patricia Clark, who had served with him at Tabernacle in the 1970's. A long time member, Erma Starr, who was Pat Clark's sister-in-law directed him to her. Pat was also widowed when they finally met for the first time on May 13th 2013. Pat and Ron were married two weeks later on May 26th 2013. Once he felt well enough to continue his ministry, together they founded Greater Grace Assemblies and Networks, a church planting organization, in Muskegon, Michigan.
