Ronald Olson

Mr. Ronald O. Olson, age 69, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007. He was born in Muskegon, MI on January 31, 1938 to Olof Hugo & Edla Linnea (Lundstrom) Olson. Mr. Olson was a graduate of Augustana Lutheran College, in Rock Island, IL where he toured Europe with the Augustaine Choir, he then continued on for his Masters Degree at Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, MI. Mr. Olson had been employed as a teacher for Muskegon Public Schools for 30 years, having taught at Froebel, Glenside, Nims, and Bunker schools. He was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church. Ronald was active in Muskegon Civic Theatre and the civic opera. He was a docent at the Muskegon County Museum of Art, and a past chief of the Viking Lodge. SURVIVORS He is survived by his devoted sister, Doreen Squire of Muskegon; brother, Rolf Olson of Brazil; special nieces, Susan (Tim) Hrynewich of Muskegon, Kathleen (Ron) True of CO; nephews, Steven & David Squire of Muskegon; great-nephews, Kevin, Ryan & Reed of Muskegon, Gregory of CO; grand-nieces, Stephanie & Hailey of Muskegon, Linnea & Katrena of CO; and many close relatives and friends in his parents homeland of Sweden. Special friends, include Harvey Myers and Anne Olson; special caregivers, Maggie & Jessie. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICE Thursday, July 26, 2007, 11:00 AM at Samuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Anderson officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. Reception to follow the service at the Vikings Lodge. VISITATION Thursday, 1 hour prior to the service at Samuel Lutheran Church. MEMORIAL: Samuel Lutheran Church, Viking Lodge or charity of your choice.
