Ronald K. Ogborn

Mr. Ronald K. "Ron" Ogborn, age 64, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born February 7, 1943 in Muskegon to Kenneth and Doris (Pennell) Ogborn and was a life resident of the area. On November 2, 1963, he married the former Iva R. Crabtree in Muskegon. Ron was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in March of 1998, Ron worked as a machinist for 31 years at Kaydon Corporation. Ron was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS include his wife, Iva; 2 daughters, Rhonda (Robert) McIntire, Renee (Kevin) Johnson; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, David (Beth) Ogborn, Scott (Diane) Ogborn; 3 sisters, Barb (Terri Conley) Ogborn, Dede (Jim) Videtich, Kathy (Rob) Kibbey; 3 brothers-in-law, Richard Crabtree, Estol Crabtree, Edwin (Diane) Crabtree; 4 sisters-in-law, Laura (Ed) Chvala, Melinda (Ed) Miotke, Lorine Crabtree, Paula Crabtree; and best friends, Bob and Tob Pennell. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 with the Rev. Greg Howard officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Egelston Township Cemetery with Military Rites offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION with Ron's family will be 6-9 PM this evening (Tuesday) and one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
