Ronald Joe Kunnen

Mr. Ronald Joe Kunnen, age 80, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 22, 2008, after a brief stay at a local hospital. Ron was born July 1, 1927 in Fremont to Ben and Hazel (Dobb) Kunnen. On August 16, 1949, he married the former Madeleine Ennis in Fremont. Mr. Kunnen was a teacher with Muskegon Public Schools for 30 years prior to his retirement. Ron was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school. He also conducted services at numerous churches and nursing homes in the Muskegon area. Ronald is SURVIVED by his wife of 57 years, Madeleine; 5 children, Terry A. (Adonica) Kunnen of Muskegon, Ronald L. (Carol) Kunnen of Delhi, CA, Victoria H. McClurken of Muskegon, Paul M. (Karen) Kunnen of Crestview, FL, and Kenneth R. Kunnen of Twin Lake; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his brother, Harvey (Margaret) Kunnen of Saginaw; his sister, Maxine Luchies of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held at 11AM Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Grace Christian Reformed Church (2500 E. Laketon Ave.) with Pastor Marvin Wassink officiating. The family welcomes family and friends one hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
