Plichta, Mr. Roger Lawrence Norton Shores Roger Lawrence Plichta, age 72, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020. He was born in Muskegon, MI on January 8, 1948 to Matthew & Eleanor (McIntosh) Plichta and served his country in the US Marines during Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart. He married the former Margaret Kennedy on July 27, 1997. Mr. Plichta worked for Brunswick for 26 years & the Muskegon Paper Mill for 13 years until retiring. After retiring he fulfilled a lifetime dream of owning his own restaurant with Tony Moulatsiotis called the Olive Tree. Roger was a longtime soccer coach for Mona Shores Schools, one of the founders of the Sailor Soccer Club, enjoyed fishing, hunting & boating. SURVIVORS Wife, Margaret; children, Kevin (Michelle) Plichta, Donald (Danielle) Plichta, Timothy (Jeanette) Plichta; grandchildren, Kylie, Ella, Isabelle, Liliana; siblings, Warren Plichta, Phyllis (Ed) Dault; many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends; special friends, Tony Moulatsiotis, Don Potter, Ron Tufts. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon. SERVICE Saturday, February 29, 2020, 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Mr. James J, Schiltz officiating. Internment in Pentwater Township Cemetery.
