Rodney Murdzia

Mr. Rodney D. Murdzia, age 63, of Muskegon, passed away of Mesothelioma on March 9, 2007 at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. He was born December 4, 1943 in Detroit, MI to the late Richard Rodney and the late Levina Cleone (Thomas) Murdzia. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, Shirline Elma (Dunlap) Murdzia. Rodney served 4 years in the United States Navy; was employed at CWC, Port City Diecast, Tiger Barns, and was a self-employed carpenter until his retirement. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Virginia (Hiar) Porter; his son, Donald Rodney (Marlo) Murdzia; his daughter, Nita Rainbolt (fiance', Jeff); four grandchildren: Chrystal Rainbolt, Melissa Rainbolt, Scott Lewis and Daron Murdzia; a great granddaughter, Danika Woodard; one brother, Allen (Sharon) Murdzia; two sisters: Diane (Russell) Larsen and Charlene (Richard) Erxleben; aunt, Eunice Haight; cousin, Reverend Richard Thomas; many friends; and very special friends, Jim and Joni Weaver and Larry and Mary McLouth. According to his wishes, Rodney will be cremated. Memorial Services will be held at VFW Post #7729, 6285 E. Apple Avenue, on Saturday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. with the Post Chaplain and Reverend Richard Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family c/o Comerica Bank would be appreciated.
