Roberta ("Robbie") Ann Barnes-Bess, age 81, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025. She was born in Detroit, MI on June 12, 1943 to Robert & Frances (Stailey) Barnes, grew up in northern California and graduated from Mount Clemens High School. She then went on to study English at the University of Michigan and at the University of Florence in Italy. She married Barry Bess on June 28, 1985. Robbie had worked as a marketing specialist at CMI until retiring to spend more time with her family. She was a lifelong traveller, often venturing to Europe or on road trips across the U.S. for days, weeks or even months at a time. A voracious reader, Robbie completed every Sunday New York Times Crossword, enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit and regularly outsmarted Jeopardy! contestants. She was a true film aficionado. Robbie was an avid lover of dogs and owned several Shih Tzu's through the years. Her intelligence, charisma, engaging spirit and quick wit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She cannot be replaced.

Husband, Barry Bess; Daughter, Gillian (David) Rendel of Plymouth.

SERVICE

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Interment in Mona View Cemetery.
