Robert Douglas Young

Young, Robert Douglas Muskegon, Michigan Robert Douglas Young, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022. He was born in Muskegon, MI on January 1, 1940 to Laurence & Alenah (Bettys) Young and graduated from Muskegon High School and Muskegon Community College. He married former Patricia Scott on February 27, 1960 and she preceded him in death in 2015. Mr. Young had been employed as a Driver for UPS for 34 years until retiring in 1998. Bob was a long time member of the Roosevelt Park City Commision and served as Mayor for 8 years. He liked to work in the garden and was a huge sports fan. Bob especially liked watching high school sports and would travel to Detroit to watch Muskegon Area teams compete for state titles in football. Bob was also a longtime member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. SURVIVORS Son, Scott Young of Coldwater; Daughter Robyn (Alan) Kahrs of Muskegon; grandchildren, Justin (Anna) Kahrs, Christopher (Ellie) Kahrs, Bethany Young, Kathryn Young; great-grandchild, Senna Kahrs. He was preceded in death by his wife, brother Alfred, and sisters Madella & Eunice SERVICE Friday, February 25, 2022, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor William Dye officiating.
