Robert Wheaton

WHEATON, MR. ROBERT L. Muskegon Mr. Robert L. Wheaton, age 86, died Monday, December 20, 2004. He was born in Hillsdale, MI on May 16, 1918 to LaVern & Katherine Netz Wheaton & married the former Ruth Fitzpatrick on July 9, 1942. Mr. Wheaton served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Communications & Intelligence Officer. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Mr. Wheaton was the past President & CEO of Fitzpatrick Electric Supply Company until retiring in 1983. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a past Officer, Trustee & Sunday School Teacher at First Congregational Church. Mr. Wheaton was a past President of North Muskegon School Board, a member of the Rotary Club, Muskegon Country Club and was an Eagle Scout. He loved to sail and had belonged to Muskegon & Harbortown Yacht Clubs. SURVIVORS Wife, Ruth; 1 son, Jim Bev Wheaton of Traverse City; 1 daughter, Anne Munford of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Jason Munford, Jeffrey Munford, Amy Jeff Bergstrom & Scott Marie Wheaton; 2 great grandchildren, Emily & Josh Bergstrom; 2 brothers, Jim Toni Wheaton of Virginia, Dan Sally Wheaton of Montana; 1 sister-in-law, Josephine George Anacker of North Muskegon. SERVICE Friday, December 24, 2004, 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Fred R. Halde officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. VISITATION Thursday, 4-7 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
