Robert Tysman

Robert L. Tysman, age 80, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007, at his home. He was born September 26, 1926, in Grand Haven to Alie and Henrietta (Swiftney) Tysman, and he married the former Nancy Sturkol on March 1, 1952, in Grand Haven. She survives him along with a daughter, Lenore (David) Pearson of Minnesota; a son, Lewis (Paula) Tysman of Richland, MI; five grandchildren; a sister, Mary Wilson of North Carolina; and a brother, Jack Tysman of Lansing. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma France, and a brother, Roger Tysman. Mr. Tysman was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities area and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven. He was formerly employed as a machinist at Oldberg's in Grand Haven and later as a greeter at K-Mart. He was a member of the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post 2326 in Grand Haven and his church men's group. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling. A private memorial service for Robert will be held at a later date. Interment was in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a church of donor's choice.
