Robert Martin Tardani

Mr. Robert Martin Tardani, age 86, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at his home. He was born March 13, 1921 in Muskegon to Louis and Filomena (Girocco) Tardani and lived most of his life in the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp having flown 35 missions during WWII in B-17's and B-24's. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was club-house manager of the Chase-Hammond Golf Course for the City of Muskegon. He married the former Evelyn E. Pikaart on February 14, 1974 in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on November 21, 2002. Mr. Tardani was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and had also been active at the VFW Post 446. SURVIVORS include 4 sons, Richard (Joyce) Tardani, Robert (Lisa) Tardani, William (Kelly) Tardani, Anthony Tardani; 3 step-daughters, Tracie (Steve) Deets, Tamera (Dave) Gramza, Terri (Carl) Grimm; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his mother, Minnie Tardani; 1 brother, William Tardani; mother-in-law, Georgene Barnes; and former wife, Doris Tardani. He was also preceded in death by his father, Louis Tardani. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 14, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will take place at St. Mary's Mausoleum. VISITATION with Mr. Tardani's family will be 4-8 PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM Thursday.
