Mr. Robert Loyd Rimmer, age 96, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019. He was born in Saint Paul, MN on April 25, 1923 to Sidney & Vella (Rennie) Rimmer and served his country in the Coast Guard and the US Navy during World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Bernadine Gillish on February 3, 1951 and had been employed as a Buyer for Centrifugal Foundry, CWC Textron and retired from West Michigan Steel. Robert attended St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and was a member of the VFW, Elks and Foundry Man's Society. He enjoyed his coffee group, reading newspapers and doing crossword puzzles. SURVIVORS Son, Irvin (Pat) Johnson; daughters, Sandra (Pat) Hulbert, Vella (David) Caruso & Robbin Behrens; 10 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernadine; brother, Charles (Pat) Rimmer & sister, Vella Diane (William) Johnson; special friend, Anita Therrian. SERVICE Friday, May 10, 2019, 1:00 PM at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Jim Rausch officiating.
