Robert Otto Ochs passed away peacefully July 29, 2007. He was born on July 2, 1930 to Otto and Bernadine (Hewett) Ochs in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan Ochs. Bob moved 19 times before his 18th birthday because of his father's career. Bob never met a stranger. Bob graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in 1952. He married Charlotte Burke September 19, 1953. She preceded him in death in 1978. He married Susan Muir on January 5, 1980. Bob had a variety of careers. He was employed by National Cash Register, was the manager of a Credit Union, and ran Dunhill Personnel Agency. He was a rabid University of Michigan football fan. He said his one regret was not being able to see what he anticipated to be this fall's "tremendous:" season. In keeping with Bob's wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Michigan Anatomy Department. He was a kind and compassionate man who brought joy to all he met. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sue; his two children, Lisa (Don) Spezia and Larry (Dee) Ochs; two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Johnny; a step-great-grandson, Avery; his cousins, Donna (Gene) Peterson, Bill (Barb) Murmann, and David Murmann. In addition, he leaves his best friend and confidant, Father Jack LaGoe. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Char; his parents; and two children, Matthew and Maryanne. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Christian Community Center, 540 E. Hackley Avenue in Muskegon Heights at 7:00 PM.
