Robert Edward Maus, age 90, of Muskegon, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Leila and Cyrus Poppen House Residence.

Robert "Bob" was known for his exceptional work ethic. He began working at Muskegon Piston Ring at just 16 years old and remained a proud union member until retiring in 1987.

Bob married Dorene Draper on September 3, 1960. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, taking great pride in making it possible for Dorene to stay home and raise their children.

Bob was an avid bowler who spent many years competing in Friday night leagues at Maple Lanes and Bob-Hi Lanes. He also enjoyed NASCAR, local dirt-track racing, classic cars, and country music.

After decades of hard work, Bob embraced retirement. He and his companion Judy DeVries, became snowbirds, traveling the country in their motorhome and escaping Michigan winters in Florida and Arizona.

Although Bob endured profound heartbreak in his life, surviving the losses of his daughter Kelly, his wife Dorene, his son Gary, his grandson Jacob and his companion Judy, his resilience and enduring spirit never wavered.

Bob is survived by his children, Daniel Maus (Betty Barnard), Wendy Hamilton, and Rodney (Sarah) Maus; daughter-in-law Annette "Anne" Maus; grandson Cody Keeler; brother Richard "Dick" Maus; nephew Jeffery Maus; grandchildren Matthew (Erica) Maus, Suzanne (Aaron) Delaney, Kyle Spoelman, and Lilia Maus; and five great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vera Maus, and sister-in-law Jeanette Maus.

Bob's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the values of hard work and perseverance he instilled, and the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.
